The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters as water from the rising Yamuna has flooded several areas in the national capital. At  8 am, the Yamuna River was flowing above the danger mark, with the water level touching the height of 208.48 metres.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the Yamuna River's water level will reach its peak by 3-4 pm Thursday and then it will start receding. “I would like to request people to not step out if it is not essential and resort to Work from Home.

Delhi's traffic police also advised commuters to avoid the Bhairon Road as the traffic movement on the road is closed because the drain water near Railway Under Bridge overflowed.

Commercial vehicles will be diverted from the Ghazipur border. Those commercial vehicles coming from Akshardham will also be diverted to the DND and will not be allowed to move between Akshardham and Sarai Kale Khan.

Traffic on Pusta Road from Shamshaan Ghat, Geeta Colony to Old Iron Bridge, Gandhi Nagar has been diverted towards Raja Ram Kohli Marg or Master Plan road to reach Swami Dayanand Marg and then to GT, Road Shahdara.

Movement of traffic is restricted on Lala Hardev Sahai Marg in the carriageway from ISBT, Kashmere Gate towards Tis Hazari due to the rise in the water level of the Yamuna River.

 

Diversion points

 Outer Ring Road (Rohini to ISBT): Traffic movement is allowed only towards GTK Road

 GTK Road to ISBT (from the Sonepat side): Traffic movement is closed and diverted to the other side

GTK Road to Azadpur under Mukarba Chowk Flyover: Traffic is diverted towards Rohini

Singhu Border: Traffic is being diverted to Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway

Mukarba Chowk: Traffic is being diverted to Peeragarhi Chowk and Narela side

Bhalswa: Traffic is being diverted to Peeragarhi and Narela side.
