Delhi temperature, weather today forecast: IMD predicts rainfall from January 24, Jammu Kashmir to receive snowfall

Delhi temperature, weather today forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Delhi will likely experience fog with the minimum and maximum temperatures likely to settle around 9 degrees and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
 
The national capital on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall is expected from January 24. The rainfall will likely continue next week. 

IMD scientist Dr Soma Sen Roy said, “Due to Western disturbance, heavy rainfall is likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on January 24 and 25. Light rain and cloudy weather are likely in Delhi from January 24 to 26. There’s a dip in temperature now, to continue for the next 5 days. Towards the end of next week, min temp to rise and max temperature to fall.”

Rajasthan temperature, weather

Most places in Rajasthan witnessed a slight increase in minimum temperatures, a Met office spokesperson said on Sunday.
 
Sirohi was the coldest place in the state, recording a night temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Karauli at 5.2 degrees.

The night temperature in Churu was recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer at 6.7 degrees, Dholpur and Dabok at 7 degrees each, Alwar at 7.3 degrees, Chittorgarh at 7.5 degrees and Sangaria and Sriganganagar at 7.8 degrees each.

Jammu Kashmir weather  

Snowfall in some of the higher reaches of Kashmir pushed the minimum temperature up across the valley, except in Pahalgam, even as the Meteorological Department has forecast a higher intensity wet weather spell over three days from Monday, officials said on Sunday.

Some areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir, including the famous ski resort of Gulmarg, received light to moderate snowfall, the officials said.
 
They said many other areas were lashed by rain during the night. The cloud cover pushed the minimum temperature up across the valley and the night temperature in Srinagar and Qazigund stayed above the freezing point.

In Srinagar, the minimum settled at a low of 1 degree Celsius up from 0.2 degrees the night before.
