Delhi government has decided to reopen schools in the national capital in phased manner. Classes for Std. 9 to 12 will begin from September 1, 2021, while for Std. 6 to 8 will begin from September 8.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government has decided to reopen schools in the national capital in phased manner. As per the information, classes for Class 9 to 12 will begin from September 1, 2021, while classes for Class 6 to 8 will begin from September 8.
"Schools in Delhi to re-open in a phased manner. Classes for std 9th to 12th will begin from September 1st. Classes for std 6th to 8th will begin from September 8th," ANI tweeted on Friday.

The decision of reopening of schools has come amid the reports of Covid-19 third wave peaking in the month of October. Other than Delhi, several states have decided to partially reopen schools in September.

It can be noted that schools in Delhi were closed in the month of March 2020 ahead of a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.
However, the Delhi government had allowed physical classes for the students of Classes 9 to 12 in February 2021 seeing the decline in daily Covid 19 cases in the country. But had to again suspended the classes following the second wave of the pandemic.
The Delhi government had recently announced partial reopening of schools and allowed class X and XII students to visit schools for admission-related work, practical activities and counselling sessions.
