Big benefit for senior citizens in Delhi! Here is what they will now get

Delhi government is all ready to start a service that will be much appreciated by senior citizens.The state is all set to roll out a service that will send senior citizens on pilgrimages. The preparation for launching pilgrimage scheme by Delhi govt is almost done. Delhi's senior citizens will get the benefit of going on a 4 to 5 days pilgrimage. The scheme "Mukhya Mantri Tirth Yatra Yojna" has already been approved in the cabinet earlier, reported NBT newspaper. The plan is to give free pilgrimage to 77000 senior citizens every year. The pilgrimage will start in November with an aim to provide free accommodation for pilgrims. Delhi govt would bear all the expenses of senior citizens such as food, lodging and transportation of the journey. Old age citizens can take an attendant among their relatives to pilgrimage through the Yojna.

The government has already prepared a website for the scheme which is ready to launch this month. Pilgrims will be directed to do online registration for the process through the portal, NBT revealed. There can be maximum 1100 senior citizens from a constituency. There are 70 constituency in Delhi Which has capacity to send 77000 senior citizens on pilgrimage in a year.

Highlights:-

Trains will depart from SafdarJung Railway station.
Journey will consist of 4 to 5 days.
80 trains to be allotted for pilgrimage.
Plan to send 1000 senior citizens in one train.

The criteria to avail the scheme:-

-One must be the citizen of Delhi state. 
-Citizens aged above 60 will be eligible for pilgrimage.
-The selected senior citizens can opt to take one attendant age above 21 years along with them whose expenses will also be bear by the  government.
-Government employees are not eligible to avail this service.
-Pilgrims have to submit an affidavit declaring that all the information, he has given is right and have never availed this service  before.
-The insurance plan of 1 lakh is set for selected pilgrims.
