Deeply saddened: Dr Subhash Chandra on visionary industrialist Ratan Tatas demise
Expressing grief over the demise of noted industrialist Ratan Tata, Essel Group Chairman Dr Subhash Chandra said his visionary leadership and impact on Indian industry were profound.
Essel Group Chairman Dr Subhash Chandra extended heartfelt condolences to the Tata family after the demise of legendary industrialist Ratan Tata in a hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. "I'm deeply saddened to know about #Ratan ji’s demise," Dr Chandra wrote on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter). Expressing grief while remembering the times he crossed paths with the Tata group leader, the media magnate wrote: "His (Ratan Tata's) visionary leadership & impact on Indian industry were profound. I regularly interacted with him on corporate issues & will always cherish his legacy of innovation & social responsibility."
"My condolences to his family," wrote Dr Chandra.
The last rites of Ratan Tata were scheduled to take place at 4 pm in central Mumbai's Worli on Thursday. Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Tata was 86 years old.
Ratan Tata will be remembered not only as one of the country's most respected industrialists, but also as a great visionary, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

Ratan Tata is credited with taking the Tata group to unprecedented heights.
Tata served as Chairman of Tata Sons—the holding company of the Tata Group—from 1991 till his retirement in 2012.
After that, he was appointed Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons.
In 2008, he was honoured with the country's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan.
