Darbar Box Office Collection: Superstar Rajinikanth's latest blockbuster, Darbar, is having a dream run at the box office. According to a tweet by famous trade analyst, Ramesh Bala, Darbar is rocking at Chennai city box office. According to Bala, Darbar's 4-day opening weekend gross is whopping Rs 7.28 crores. Bala tweeted, "#Darbar rocks #Chennai City Box office..4-day Opening weekend gross is a whopping ₹ 7.28 Crs.."

Earlier, it was reported that Rajinikanth movie Darbar may shatter many box office records. According to several media reports, Rajinikanth starrer Darbar is already in prestigious Rs 200 cr club even before its release. This Rs 200 cr figure includes worldwide theatricals as well as non-theatrical rights of Darbar.

Darbar Movie released on 9th Jan, 2020. Rajinikanth plays the role of commissioner of Mumbai in Darbar.

Darbar Movie is an action thriller written and directed by Ghajini maker AR Murugadoss. The film stars Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Prateik Babbar, Jatin Sarna, Dalip Tahil, and Sunil Shetty in important roles.

Earlier, Superstar Rajinikanth had said he would love to explore the idea of playing a transgender in a film.

"I have explored almost all the genres. I have worked in 160 films and it's been 45 years in the film industry. I want to play the role of a transgender," said the Tamil screen idol, when asked if there still was any genre or role that he would like to explore after such a glorious innings in films, as per a report in IANS.

Asked if he has been approached by any filmmaker to play the role of a transgender, he said: "No, not yet. I thought about it just now and expressed my wish." The veteran actor also spoke of his wish to work in a Marathi film someday, since his roots belong to Maharashtra. He added that his passion for acting has been the driving factor for the last 45 years.

Rajinikanth said, "I do speak in Marathi in my house. Once I had an opportunity to work in a Marathi film but that didn't work out. I would like to work in a Marathi film. Let's see when it happens. We have shot this film ('Darbar') for 90 days in Mumbai. I really love people of Mumbai."
