Though oximeter has saw a huge demand and now most of the households have it at their own home, but are they using it right? Well, to help people use oximeter in a right manner, the Ministry of information and broadcasting has issued a guide. You need to follow seven steps to ensure that your pulse oximeter takes correct reading.

Let's have a look at these steps:
1 Rest for 10-15 minutes before using the oximeter 
2. Keep your hand still on the chest, at heart level 
3. Place the device on middle or index finger 
4. Check the reading once it is stabilised 
5. If you feel healthy, check your oxygen at least twice a day. 
6. If you have Covid 19 symptoms, check your oxygen saturation level every 6 hours 
7. if your oxygen is below 94%, please contact your doctor 

Meanwhile, in some relief, India saw a decline in Coronavirus cases on Tuesday, May 18, however, the fatalities rose in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry's data. 

As per the ministry's data on Tuesday morning, there were 2,63,533 new infections, alongside 4,329 coronavirus-related casualties, which notably is India's highest single-day rise in COVID-19 deaths.
