Despite the vaccination drive, there are many questions among the common people regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. An india.com report has covered most of the frequently asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccination as well as the vaccination drive in India. This information will be helpful for the people and several doubts will be clarified.

Now, the most common question circulating among the people is whether it is necessary to take a COVID-19 vaccine. In response to that it can be said that despite certain reports suggesting the fact that vaccination does not provide full protection from COVID-19 mutant strains, it is absolutely necessary to take the vaccine in order to minimise the chances of hospitalisation or death in worst case scenario, in case the disease has already been contracted. Doctors have said that taking the vaccination shots will reduce chances of a serious infection.

Another frequently asked question is that if both the vaccine shots have to be from the same manufacturer. In this regard, people must note that it is necessary to have two same doses to attain maximum immunity. For instance, if anyone has taken first dose of Covishield, it is necessary for the person to take the shot of Covishield for the second dose as well.

There was a lot of confusion regarding whether the COVID-19 vaccine shot can be taken during menstruation, the government has busted the myth and has said that it is perfectly safe to get vaccinated during menstruation.

Apart from the above-mentioned points, the people must also remember that it is not mandatory to take both the COVID-19 vaccine shots from the same centre. As long as the vaccination centres have the same vaccines, it is perfectly alright to take one shot from one centre and the next shot from another.

Now, the most apprehensive question is what happens if one is tested COVID-19 positive even after taking the first vaccine shot. In that case, one has to wait for 14 days to recover and after a negative test, one can go ahead with the second shot of vaccine.
The registration process for the third phase of vaccination starting from May 1, 2021 has already begun. People above 18 years of age must register for the vaccination drive via CoWin portal at cowin.gov.in. They can also register through the Aarogya Setu app.
