Covid 19 symptoms in Children: Every day a new peak is reached in terms of coronavirus cases being registered in India in the second wave of the virus. States and the central government are adopting a lot of measures and steps to curb the situation.
The second wave of coronavirus has also proven very dangerous for kids and children. It is very difficult for parents to understand what the kids are going through as they are small and cannot explain their Covid 19 symptoms. In such cases, knowing correct information and having sufficient knowledge about Covid 19 symptoms in Children can help in early treatment and saving of lives as well as avoiding pain and suffering.

Detailing about the age group of the children which are getting affected the most, the doctor said that as a Paediatrician, she is observing a lot of children are getting infected in the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic in the country. These children mostly belong to an age group of zero, that is newborn, to 18-19 years.

Kids born to a Covid 19 positive mother are getting infected with the virus while adolescents and teenagers are also getting affected, she added.
Explaining the reason behind this, the Paediatrician said that this is happening may be because of the phase when the cases of Covid 19 declined and people started going out with fewer precautions.
Even children started playing, staying in playgroups, playing in play areas of malls, sleepovers, etc, she added.
She said that we know this wave is very infectious because of which it is spreading rapidly and affecting a lot of people. Therefore we are observing that children belonging to every age group are getting more impacted compared to the first wave.
Informing about the Covid 19 symptoms in Children that parents should watch out for, Dr Jagruti said infection of Covid 19 can behave like viral infection in kids. They can show symptoms like fever, normal cold and cough. They can also have loose motions, stomach ache, vomiting.
Adolescents, that is children belonging to the age group of 10-18 years, can have fever a few days earlier and then they can show symptoms like rash, stomach pain, vomiting, loose motions or an increase in heart rate, she added.
