The Modi Government has allowed Covid-19 vaccination for those above 18 years from May 1. Now, the registration for the vaccination exercise is all set to start from April 24. The information was shared by chairperson of the empowered committee on Covid-19 vaccination RS Sharma on Thursday. "The registration process for next phase of vaccination drive will start from April 24 on the government’s CoWin platforms," News18 reported RS Sharma saying this .

Sharma urged all above 18 years to get themselves registered on the platform before turning up at Covid 19 vaccination Centre.  "More centres and private facilities are being set up for a faster vaccination process this time," said Sharma.

Earlier, indigenous vaccines Covaxin and Covishield were part of this exercise, now Russian vaccine Sputnik V will also be added at some centres.   

How to register at cowin.gov.in  
Step 1:  Log on to cowin.gov.in and enter your mobile number  
Step 2 Enter the OTP sent on your mobile number and hit verify button  
Step 3: As soon as the OTP is validated, the “Registration of Vaccination” page will open up  
Step 4: Enter required details, such as photo ID. Tick the right option, when asked if you have any comorbidities.  
Step 5: Now, click “Register” button at the bottom right  
Step 6: After this, you will receive a confirmation message on successful registration. Once registration is done, you will be shown the “Account Details”.

Every citizen above 18 years of age, regardless of comorbidities, will now be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine.  A liberalised and accelerated phase three strategy of COVID-19 vaccination drive decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met top doctors in the country.
