Covid 19: India records 2,897 fresh coronavirus cases, 54 deaths in 24 hours

A total of 54 Covid deaths were reported in the same period, bringing the nation's death toll to 5,24,157.
At present, there are 19,494 cases active, which equates to 0.05 per cent of all positive cases.
Over the last 24 hours, 2,986 patients have been recovered, bringing the cumulative total to 4,25,66,935. Therefore, India's recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.
Likewise, the Daily Positivity Rate also recorded an increase of 0.61 per cent, while the Weekly Positivity Rate currently stands at 0.74 per cent.
The number of tests conducted across the country increased to 4,72,190 in the same period, totalling 84.19 crore.
As of Wednesday morning, India`s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 190.67 crore, achieved via 2,37,57,172 sessions.
Over 3.09 crore adolescents have been administered a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of the vaccination drive for this age bracket.
