Covid-19 HELPLINE for elderly people in UP, MP, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu Karnataka active NOW; this facility is TOLL FREE
In order to assist the elderly and address their problems, the Narendra Modi government has started state wise call centres in major states under the ELDERLINE project. The step has been taken in view of the current coronavirus pandemic situation. The project has been started by the Ministry of Social Justice.
The facility is already made operational in 5 major states of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Madhya Pradesh (MP), Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu (TN) and Karnataka according to a government release. In Telangana, this facility has been working for more than a year, the release further said.

Efforts are being made to make them functional in all states by the end of May 2021, the release further said.
The Ministry of Social Justice has started state wise call centres in major states under the ELDERLINE project.
These call centres can be reached by toll free number 14567. All elders may be advised to use this facility. The ELDERLINE is a facility operationalised with the assistance of Tata Trusts and NSE foundation, the government release said.

According to a data present on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in India stand at 3,516,997 which stands at 14 per cent of the total number of cases. The total number of people who have been discharged stand at 21,174,076 or over 84 per cent. As per the latest figures, the total number of deaths are at 274390 or around 1.10 per cent.
While the daily deaths continue to remain above Rs 4000, the number of daily cases have dropped below 300,000 (in the last 24 hrs) for the first time since 21 April.
