Covid-19: Fresh cases continue to decline as India reports 67,597 cases in last 24 hrs; death toll up

According to the Covid-19 bulletin, 1,188 people died across India due to a novel coronavirus in one day.
After a brief respite on Monday, the death toll surpassed 1,000 on Tuesday.
The official report states that India's positivity rate is little more than 5 per cent. However, the report stated that the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 8.30 per cent.
The number of active cases is also declining. According to the Health Ministry, India has 9,94,891 active cases of Covid-19.
While the active cases fell below 10 lakh after around 27 days, there was a reduction of 1,14,047 cases in the active COVID-19 case count in a span of 24 hours, as per the data.
The death toll due to Covid-19 in India has climbed to 5,04,062.
As of now, 170.21 crore doses have been administered as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive, according to the report.
