The Delhi government has made wearing masks mandatory in public places due to the rise in the number of COVID 19 cases in the National Capital. Those who do not follow this rule will be fined Rs 500. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority held on Wednesday.

In the DDMA meeting, it has also been decided not to close schools in the national capital. The government will also increase Covid-19 testing in Delhi. The meeting discussed increasing the focus on vaccination.

Apart from this, a new standard operating procedure (SOP) will also be issued amid increasing cases.

According to the data updated by the Ministry of Health at 8 am, there are currently 12,340 active cases of coronavirus in the country. At the same time, the total number of people who died of coronavirus in the country has gone up to 5,22,006.

However, more than 186.90 crore doses have been given under the ongoing nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign to prevent coronavirus in India.
