COVID-19 Cases Today: India logs 13,313 fresh coronavirus cases, death toll climbs to 5,24,941 with 38 new fatalities

COVID-19 Cases Today: India on Thursday logged 13,313 new coronavirus infections in the country. The total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,33,44,958. The active caseload currently stands at 0.19% with 83,990 cases, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated.

13,313 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the daily positivity rate to 2.03% and the weekly positivity rate to 2.81%. Whereas the death toll climbed to 5,24,941 with 38 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

According to the ministry, 196.62 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Whereas 85.94 crore total tests conducted so far. 6,56,410 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

A total of 5,24,941 deaths have been reported so far in the country including 1,47,892 from Maharashtra, 69,917 from Kerala, 40,113 from Karnataka, 38,026 from Tamil Nadu, 26,242 from Delhi, 23,532 from Uttar Pradesh and 21,212 from West Bengal, said PTI.

According to PTI, the ministry stressed that more than 70 percent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

"Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research," the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
