Covid-19: Big decision! Check Modi government's advisory on salary and job cuts

Due to the financial strain owing to Covid 19 pandemic, many employers are sacking their staff while some are cutting a part of their salaries. Now, amid all this, a message has been going viral that Modi government has requested All Chief Secretaries to advise employers to not terminate or reduce wages due to COVID-19 lockdown.
Reacting to the viral message, the Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau has confirmed that the Labour Ministry was requesting all chief secretaries to advise employers of all establishments to not terminate or reduce wages of their employees amid COVID-19.

Earlier, a message related to reduction in retirement age of Central government employees was going viral on social media. The Fact Check Unit of Press Information Bureau had revealed the truth behind it. According to a statement tweeted by Fact Check Unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB), Central Government is not mulling any reduction in retirement age of Central Government employees.
In order to check the spread of fake news on social media and following observations of the Supreme Court, PIB set up a dedicated unit to bust rumours getting viral on the social media. ‘PIBFactCheck’ is a verified handle on Twitter that continuously monitors trending messages on social media platforms and conducts comprehensive review of its contents to bust fake news. Besides, PIB_India handle and various PIB regional unit handles on Twitter are posting official and authentic version of any item on Twitter using the hashtag #PIBFactCheck for the benefit of the Twitter community at large.
