Coronavirus: COVID-19 vaccine for 15-18 age group; step-by-step guide for registering on CoWIN
In accordance with the Union Health Ministrys guidelines, people born in 2007 or before are eligible for vaccinations.
On January 1, the CoWIN portal for kids' registration opened, and on January 3, the onsite registration process began. In accordance with the Union Health Ministry's guidelines, people born in 2007 or before are eligible for vaccinations.
For children in this age group, the only vaccine option would be Covaxin since it is the only vaccine with an Emergency Use Listing (EUL) for the 15-18 age group, as well as being recommended by the COVID-19 Working Group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization.
Using a valid ID card, a slot for children can be booked on the app. Upon entering your mobile number and OTP, you can book a vaccination slot. Besides Aadhaar and other national identity cards, kids can also use their class 10th ID card to register on CoWIN.

Step 2: Tap on the "Register/Sign-In".
Step 3: Enter your mobile number.
Step 4: Generate an OTP via SMS on the registered mobile number.
Step 5: Enter the OTP on the portal and tap on "Verify".
Step 6: Once your mobile number is verified with the OTP, update details such as name, age, gender and a photo ID.
Step 7: Upload a photo of your valid ID card. Apart from Aadhaar and other national identity cards, school IDs of children are eligible for vaccination.
Step 8: Tap on the "Register" button.
Step 9: After registering, select a date and location for your vaccination appointment.
Step 10: With the drop-down menus, you can either search by district or by pin code to find a vaccination center near you.
Step 11: Check out the dates and availability of the vaccination centre of your choice by clicking on its name.
Step 12: Click the "Book" button if your preferred slot is available.
Step 13: Your registered mobile number will receive an SMS once the appointment has been confirmed.
Step 14: Carry the photo ID you have listed on Co-WIN, along with the confirmation SMS.
When you visit the vaccination centre on your scheduled date, in addition to the appointment confirmation details, you must carry the photo ID listed on the CoWIN portal.
