Congress accuses Sebi chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch of providing false information to regulator about her husbands firm Agora
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said Buch had claimed that when she joined Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi), Agora Pvt. Ltd had become dormant. He said that her claims were false.
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera on Tuesday (September 10, 2024) levelled fresh allegations against Sebi chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, accused her of hiding information from the regular about a company owned by her husband, Dhaval Buch.
Khera said that Agora Advisory Pvt Ltd is owned by Dhaval Buch.
The Congress spokesperson said that Buch had claimed that when she joined Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi), Agora Pvt. Ltd had become dormant.
Khera said that her claims were false.
The Congress has been alleging Buch of following corrupt practices as a Sebi member and chairman.
The party had alleged that the Sebi chairperson took salary from ICICI Bank even after joining Sebi as a member.
"We are continuously making revelations against the Sebi chairperson. Till date, there is no reply from Sebi. No reply has come from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) either. The only reply came from ICICI Bank, but it doesn't has any facts."
Targeting Buch, Khera says that the Congress' question is that which companies took advice from Agora.
