The domestic fuel prices depend on the 15 day average of international crude oil prices and the value of rupee. The Brent crude fell below $53 to $52.79 a barrel on Friday, lowest since the second quarter of 2017.

The fuel prices have seen a massive correction since October 2018 when the Brent was sailing at $85 a barrel.

The petrol is selling down by Rs 14 to Rs 16 per litre in metro cities of India as compared to the prices in October 2018. The highest price petrol touched in Delhi was Rs 84 per litre and diesel sold at Rs 75.45 per litre in October this year.

The continuous appreciation of Indian rupee, weakening of crude oil prices and its oversupply issues globally will likely to get further rate cuts in fuel prices.
