Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma-led Rajasthan Government has taken major decisions in the interest of employees in the cabinet meeting including an increase in state employees' gratuity and death gratuity from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
Deputy CM Premchand Bairwa and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel addressed a press conference after the meeting on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Bairwa said that in the interest of state personnel, approval has been given to increase the maximum limit of their gratuity and death gratuity from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
He said that now on the lines of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), male and female personnel will get the option to include either of their parents or in-laws for medical facilities in Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), provided the parents or in-laws are dependent and reside with the male or female personnel.
"In this regard, Rule 3(9) of Rajasthan Civil Services (Medical Care) Rules, 2013 will be amended while implementing the announcement of the budget year 2024-25," he said.
The cabinet has also decided that the employees will get the benefit of a family pension at an increased rate for 10 years on the lines of central employees.
Rajasthan Deputy CM Bairwa said that in case of the death of personnel while in service, the dependent will be able to get the benefit of family pension at an increased rate for 10 years like central personnel.
"For these provisions, the notification of amendment in Rules 55 and 62 of Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1996 will be effective from April 1, 2024," he said.
"Taking another important decision, amendment in Rule 14A and Sub-rule 4 of 20 of Rajasthan District Court Clerical Class Establishment Rules 1986 and Sub-rule 4 and Rule 30 of Rule 18 of Rajasthan Subordinate Court (Driver and Class IV Employee) Service Rules, 2017 has been approved," he added.
He further asserted that these amendments would provide relief to those clerical personnel, drivers and Class IV employees of the courts who were deprived of promotion due to having more than two children.
"Now their promotion will be considered from the date on which their promotion became due and they can be given notional pay increment," the Deputy CM said.
