Chhattisgarh government reduces VAT on petrol by 1%, diesel by 2%

It has to be noted that on November 3, 2021, the Finance Ministry announced a Rs 5 reduction in the excise duty of petrol and a cut of Rs 10 in the excise duty of diesel. Following the announcement by the central government, several other states and union territories have also reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel prices.
The official Twitter handle of the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) tweeted, " Important decisions taken by the Chief Minister Shri@bhupeshbaghel in the cabinet giving great relief to the people of #छत्तीसगढ़. Big cut in the price of petrol and diesel. VAT on diesel reduced by 2%."

As per the Indian Oil website, the price of petrol in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh is Rs 101.88 per litre, at present. The price of diesel is Rs 93.78 per litre.
While reducing the excise duties earlier this month, the central government said in a statement, "Government of India has taken a significant decision of reducing Central Excise Duty on Petrol and Diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10, respectively, from tomorrow. Prices of petrol and diesel will thus come down accordingly. The reduction in excise duty on diesel will be double to that of petrol."
After the announcement from the central government, the fuel prices have remained stable for more than two weeks in the metro cities.
On Monday, the prices of petrol and diesel in the national capital is Rs 103.97 per litre and Rs 86.67 per litre, respectively.
In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 109.98 per litre and diesel at Rs 94.14 per litre.
According to the official website of fuel retailer Indian Oil, prices of petrol and diesel are as follows:
1) Delhi: Petrol - Rs 103.97 per litre, Diesel: Rs 86.67 per litre
2) Mumbai: Petrol - Rs 109.98 per litre, Diesel: Rs 94.14 per litre
3) Kolkata: Petrol - Rs 104.67 per litre, Diesel: Rs 89.79 per litre
4) Chennai: Petrol - Rs 101.40 per litre, Diesel: Rs 91.43 per litre
