Chandrayaan 3 launch date and time: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch its third lunar exploration mission Chandrayaan-3 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The mission will make India the fourth country to land its spacecraft on the surface of the moon and demonstrate the country’s abilities for a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface. Chandrayaan-3 aims to land softly on the lunar surface and explore it with a rover.
Just like every major mission, ISRO scientists offer prayers at the Tirupati temple for its success. A team of ISRO scientists performed puja with a miniature model of Chandrayaan-3. The mission will be launched on Friday at 2:35 p.m. from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft will be carried by India's heavy-lift rocket the 642-ton LVM3. During the countdown process, the liquid and cryogenic stages will be fueled up and the rocket systems checked.
For Chandrayaan 3 budget of Rs 615 crores has been allocated for the third lunar mission of ISRO.

One can watch the ISRO Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft launch live on Friday by registering at ivg.shar.gov.in. After registering yourself, you can watch the event live from the Launch View Gallery at Satish Dhawan Space Centre. People can also watch the launch on the official YouTube channel of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Doordarshan.
About ISRO's Chandrayaan Mission
India has launched two lunar missions before this. The first Chandrayaan mission was launched on October 22, 2008. The mission was known for its discovery of water on the moon and later it led to many other discoveries too. The second mission, Chandrayaan-2 was launched on July 22, 2019, The lander made it to the lunar orbit but was later lost just 2.1 km above the moon's surface.
