The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found Lunar lander Vikram on Sunday after losing communication with it earlier. The lander has been found by the orbiter, confirmed ISRO chief who added that the space body is yet to establish contact with the Vikram. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chief, K Sivan to ANI: "We've found the location of Vikram Lander on lunar surface and orbiter has clicked a thermal image of Lander. But there is no communication yet. We are trying to have contact. It will be communicated soon."

After ISRO's Mission Control Centre lost communication with the lander, there was a feeling of disappointment among the scientists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other noted persons, however, stood by ISRO and congratulated the organisation for the arduous effort.

"This is Mission Control Centre. #VikramLander descent was as planned and normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from Lander to the ground stations was lost. Data is being analyzed," ISRO had tweeted earlier. "#Chandrayaan2 mission was a highly complex mission, which represented a significant technological leap compared to the previous missions of #ISRO to explore the unexplored south pole of the Moon," it had said.

ISRO's Mission Control Centre earler said that Vikram lander's descent was as planned and normal up to the altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from the lander to the ground stations was lost. The nation was waiting to hear a piece of good news from ISRO, but the news of losing contact with the lander disappointed many. This also created heated exchange of words among the Twitter users, as people stood by the apex space body and trolled those who criticised ISRO for the connection failure of Vikram with its control room.
