The patients under home isolation will stand discharged and end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive and no fever for 3 successive days.

News agency ANI has tweeted about the revised guidelines from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Union Health Ministry issues revised guidelines for home isolation of mild/asymptomatic COVID-19 patients."

As per the revised guidelines, the patients under home isolation will stand discharged and end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive and have no fever for 3 successive days. Furthermore, there is also no need for re-testing after the home isolation period is over.
In a subsequent tweet, ANI has also mentioned this. The tweet said, "Patients under home isolation will stand discharged & end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive & no fever for 3 successive days. There is no need for re-testing after the home isolation period is over: Union Health Ministry."
It has to be noted that the revised guidelines has laid detailed conditions for the eligibility of home isolation. The patients aged 60 and above with co-morbid conditions such as Hypertension, heart disease, diabetics, chronic lung, liver, kidney disease and others will be allowed home isolation only after proper evaluation by the treating medical officer.
Furthermore, while a patient is allowed home isolation, all the other members in the family including other contacts will have to follow the home quarantine guidelines available at the official website of MoHFW at mohfw.gov.in.
As per the data from the MoHFW, over the last 24 hours. the country has recorded 58,097 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
