A big news for all class 10 and 12 CBSE board (Central Board of Secondary Education) examination aspirants. The CBSE board has announced that it will be conducting examinations of only 29 main subjects for classes 10th and 12th. This is an important news for students whose exams have to be stopped in between because of Delhi riots and later due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in a complete nationwide lockdown till 14 April.

In another important decision, the board has said that all students from class 1 to 8 will be promoted to the next class. The decision to conduct exams in 29 subjects comes in the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases across the country. These are subjects which are necessary for getting admissions in higher institutions.

Union Minister for Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal has said that that a suggesting with regards to this has already been given to the CBSE. He said that the board will not take examinations for remaining subjects. The directions for board results will be announced soon, he said.

The ministry has also directed CBSE to promote all the students from class 1 to 8, considering the ongoing coronovirus situation in the country. The students of class 9th and 11th will also be promoted on the basis of evaluations made by the school. The students can appear in the examinations conducted by schools in an online or offline mode.
