IIM CAT 2019 registration: For those who want to pursue their career in management, this information is very crucial as the registration for Common Admission Test (CAT) at the Indian Institutes of Management-Kozhikode will close today. The candidates who have so far not submitted their online application must do it at the Institutes' official website-iimcat.ac.in. Last week, the application process date for CAT 2019 was extended to accommodate students who failed to do so in the wake of rains and floods in several states.

IIM Kozhikode is conducting the CAT 2019 on November 24 in two sessions at 374 centres in 156 cities spread across the country. Every year over two-lakh candidates appear for the entrance examination, and those who crack the CAT are allowed to take admission in IIMs and other B-schools. Notably, the admission process of each IIM is separate and after qualifying CAT, a candidate needs to apply separately.

Eligibility criteria for CAT 2019

The general candidates willing to take the exams must possess Bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent, while reserve category candidates — Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) — need to graduate from recognised university with minimum of 45 per cent marks.

Application fees: The candidates belonging to general category need to pay application fees of Rs 1900, while for the reserved category SC, ST and PwD are required to pay Rs 950.

Notably, the candidates taking the CAT 2019 should know that in the application form, they can give an option of four cities of their preference as the exam centre. The test will be of 180 minutes comprising three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability.
