Caste List Bihar: Castes in Bihar will now be identified on the basis of codes, in the form of numbers, and each cast will be given a code. In the second phase of the caste-based census released in Bihar, codes created on the basis of caste marks will be filled in through forms, the portal, and the mobile app.
Different codes for different castes
As per the caste-based census of the second round, a list of 17 columns and 215 castes has been prepared. Different codes have been determined for each caste. That is how castes will be identified through their code numbers. Now the caste of an individual will be known through the code. It has even been said that in the future, in all job applications and reports, castes will be identified through these codes.
What will be the different codes for castes?
According to an official associated with the caste-based census, the code number 124 has been fixed for the Bania caste, in which Sudi, Godak, Mayra, Roniar, Pansari, Modi, Kasera, Kesarwani, Thathera, Kalwar, Kamlapuri Vaishya, Mahuri Vaishya, Bangi Vaishya, Vaishya Poddar, Barnwal, Agrahari Vaishya, Kasaudhan, Gandhabnik, Batham Vaishya, Goldar, etc., are included. Code number 22 will be used for Kayastha, while 128 has been fixed for Brahmins and 144 for Bhumihars. Similarly, different codes have been determined for different castes.
The Bihar government had approved the caste-based census last year. Under this census, in the first phase, the enumeration of houses has been completed, while the enumeration of the second phase is scheduled to start on April 15. The government has set a target to complete this census by May.
