BVR Subrahmanyam appointed as Niti Aayog CEO, replaces Parameswaran Iyer
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet made the official announcement and said that Subrahmanyam's appointment has been approved for a period of two years from the date he assumes office.
Government has appointed former IAS officer B V R Subrahmanyam as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Niti Aayog on Monday. Subrahmanyam replaces Parameswaran Iyer who has been appointed as the Executive Director of the World Bank.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet made the official announcement through a release and said that Subrahmanyam's appointment has been approved for a period of two years from the date he assumes office.
"The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri B.V.R Subrahmanyam, IAS (CG:87) (Retd.) as Chief Executive officer, NITI Aayog," said the official notification.

He has been appointed "for a period of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, on the terms and conditions," it added.
Parameswaran Iyer, who was working as Niti Aayog CEO since June 2022, has been appointed as Executive Director, World Bank headquarters, Washington DC, USA for a tenure of three years.
He will be replacing Rajesh Khullar, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, who has been repatriated to his cadre state Haryana, the order said.
