Budget 2022: RBI to issue digital rupee usiing blockchain, other technologies says FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today announced that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will launch digital rupee during this year.  The Digital rupee will be issued using blockchain and other technologies and will be issued by RBI starting 2022-23. This will give a big boost to the economy, FM Nirmala Sitharaman today said.

She was presenting her third full Budget 2022 on Tuesday.

Among other top announcements, FM announced rolling out of open platform for National Digital Health Ecosystem. Digital registries of Health providers, health facilities, unique Health IDs and consent framework, universal access to health facilities, the FM said.
