Budget 2020: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made many big announcements today while p[resenting Union Budget 2020. While she announced Rs 100 lakh crore fund allocation for the 65 infrastructure projects, she made big-ticket announcements for education, healthcare, power sector to senior citizens. In fact, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has tried to reach out to each and every section in the Budget 2020 (#BudgetOnZee).

Apart from the above, the government of India has increased the Bank Deposit insurance from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, which means if a bank becomes bankrupt as we witnessed recently in the case of PMC Bank crisis, in such a situation, if someone has deposits up to Rs 5 lakh, then his or her bank deposit is insured. From now on, if a bank becomes defaulter the depositor will get up to Rs 5 lakh or the whole amount of bank deposit (whichever is lesser).

To bridge the rural and urban divide, 100 new airports have been proposed under the UDAN scheme. Apart from this, Bharat Net scheme aims to connect 100 villages on the internet network.
