A bombshell was found near Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's official residence in Chandigarh, news agency ANI reported. The bombshell was found near Kansal and Nayagaon T-point in Chandigarh on Monday evening, officials said. The bombshell was found was not more than 2 km from Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s residence.

A bomb disposal squad was immediately dispatched to the spot. The administration also informed the army about the incident.

 "A live bombshell has been found here (Chandigarh). It has been secured with help of police and bomb disposal squad. An Army team has been called in. The area is being cordoned off. Further investigation is underway," Sanjeev Kohli, Nodal officer, Diasater Management, Chandigarh.  

The bombshell was reportedly found on the Nayagaon-Kansal road, which is about 500-700 metres from the residences of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar, PTI reported.
