Charges for issuing boarding passes is not “tariff”, Government says; issues advisory asking airlines not to charge
Government has issued an advisory to airlines companies operating in India to not charge any additional amount for issuing boarding passes at the airport check-in counters. Airlines have been charging for issuing boarding passes saying that it was a service being given to the passengers who could not do web check-ins. As a result, they had to deploy a person specifically for this.
The advisory has been issued after the ministry received complaints from passengers about the practice by the airlines.
