Good News for Mumbaikars: The country's largest municipal corporation BMC has tied up with Google Maps to provide live updates on road closure, diversions and traffic in the city. In fact, the monsoon is near, in such a situation, roads have been dug everywhere in the city due to the metro, due to which the traffic is bad, and people sometimes have to get stuck in traffic for hours. Therefore, BMC will show live through Google Maps.
In such a situation, BMC will give Real-Time Updates to Google and its partner, Lepton. Various departments of BMC, such as Sewage, Hydraulics, Roads, and Stormwater drains, will give live updates of road conditions to Google and Lepton, which will be updated in real-time on Google Maps.
Updates will be reflected in 15-20 minutes for commuters
There will be a closed sign on the map with a red dotted line on the roads closed due to excavation or flooding in the monsoon. These roads will not be on the suggested routes of Google. Apart from this, one way closed roads will also have information on the map.
Google Maps have tied up with BMC on a pro bono basis. BMC will send updates to Google from 7:30 am to 10 pm, which will be updated on the map.
