Big boost for Hrithik Roshan! Super 30 gets GST exemption in Maharashtra

In what comes as another boost for Hrithik Roshan who has made a dominating comeback with the Super 30, the film has been exempted from the state goods and services tax (GST) in Maharashtra. The BJP-led state government in Maharashtra on Tuesday has decided to exempt the film from GST, after a meeting of the state cabinet. The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. 

Starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, Super 30 is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who prepares underprivileged students for entrance to IITs, under his 'Super 30' programme. The movie has already gaining traction with Hrithik's superb acting and storyline. 

The states like Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi have already made the film tax free, seeing the social impact film could create. The biopic, that released on July 12, has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. 

According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, Super 30's earning portions is coming from Mumbai and Tier-2 cities. It has earned Rs 39.39 crore in Mumabi circuit, Rs 25.97 in Delhi and UP circuit, Rs 10.89 crore in Punjab circuit and Rs 7.40 crore in West Bengal circuit.
