Bharat Bandh Today: More than 8 crore traders, transporters and labour organisations have called for the Bharat Bandh on 26th February 2021 i.e. today. They have called for the nation wide 'shut down' to protest against the rising petrol, diesel price and they are also demanding Goods and Services Tax (GST) e-bill reforms. Taking advantage of the Bharat Bandh, farmers, who have been protesting for months on Delhi borders, have also indicated that they will participate in a peaceful manner. Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is leading the farmers protest has asked its supporters to participate in the Bharat Bandh today without hitting the public life. Supporting the Bharat Bandh today, various transporters associations have announced to shut down their services from morning 6:00 AM to evening 8:00 PM. So, due to this Bharat Bandh, various services across the nation are expected to remain affected throughout the day.

Bharat Bandh Today: Services that will get affected

1] No Log in at GST Portal during Bharat Bandh Time: As per the information from the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), around 1500 traders associations have announced to remain away from the GST portal today. Means, these traders association members won't log in at the GST portal throughout the Bharat Bandh time.

2] Shutdown of transport services: CAIT has garnered support of 40,000 traders association that represents around 8 crore traders across India. Apart from this, All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA) has also announced to lend support to this CAIT called Bharat Bandh today. So, during the Bharat Bandh today, transport service is also expected to remain affected throughout the Bharat Bandh time.

3] No Tax Advocacy: Apart from the transporters association, Chartered Accountants (CAs) and Tax Advocates have also lent their support to CAIT called Bharat Bandh. So, no tax advocacy will be available during the Bharat Bandh on 26th February 2021.

4] Hit on wholesale, retail market: A good number of wholesale and retail marketers have also extended their support to the Bharat Bandh. So, during the Bharat Bandh today wholesale and retail market is expected to get affected during the Bharat Bandh today.

5] Hawkers association too lends support: Some hawkers associations have also announced to participate in the Bharat Bandh today. National association of hawkers Hawkers Sanyukt Karrawahi Samiti has announced its support to the Bharat Bandh today. So, hawkers service is also expected to receive the impact of this Bharat Bandh today.

However, some of the essential services will continue to remain available during the Bharat Bandh. Those essential commodities and services shops like medical stores, milk parlours, vegetable shops will remain open during the Bharat Bandh today.
