Batti Gul Meter Chalu box office collection: Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor’s latest film, released on September 21, is based on the issues of electricity theft and overcharging. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and Yami Gautam. Facing stiff competition from 'Manmarziyaan' and 'Stree', which are still running in theatres, the film has made its presence felt as it opened on a decent enough note. 
 
The film has earned Rs 29.33 Cr by day 5. Optimistic about the film's prospects, trade analyst Taran Adarsh earlier posted the box office figures of Batti Gul Meter Chalu on his Twitter handle as "#BattiGulMeterChalu Fri 6.76 cr, Sat 7.96 cr, Sun 8.54 cr, Mon 3.16 cr, Tue 2.91 cr.
