The month of July does not have a national holiday this year, while banks will remain closed on certain days in different parts of the country. If you are a day to day user of banking facilities, you should know about these dates; when lenders will not be available.

1. Banks will remain closed on Saturdays:

As per the banking rules in India, all banks remain close on 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Similarly all the banks will remain shut on July 13th (second Saturday) and July 27th (4th Saturday). 

2. Different states will have different reasons:

a. Odisha: The banks shall remain closed on July 4, on account of lord Jagannath 'rathyatra' ritual starting from Thursday. 

b. Jammu & Kashmir: The banks in the state will remain closed on July 5th (Friday) on account of the birthday of sixth Sikh Guru -Gurugobind Singh. 

c. Agartala: On account of the festival 'Kharchi Puja', celebrated in temples of the city; all banks shall remain closed on July 10th. 

d. Meghalaya: July 17th will be the Tirot Sing Day, which is celebrated in the state. therefore all banks shall remain closed on the occasion. 

e. Agartala: All banks shall not operate on account of 'Ker Puja' on July 23.
