Badhaai Ho movie is now officially the highest grossing small film of all time, according to Bollywood Hungama report. Other mid-budget movies that it has beaten are Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which collected Rs 109 crore and Raazi, which collected Rs 124 crore. While Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety starred Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha, Raazi cast included Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, and Shishir Sharma.

Ayushmann Khurrana with his acting amazing role play has attracted captivated the audiences and he has justifiably received praise from the critics and from viewers he got a tremendous word of mouth boost. The film, based on middle-aged couple having a child, even as other children are already adults, has exceeded analysts expectations.  Besides Khurrana and Neena Gupta, the film features Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri, and Sanya Malhotra.

Significantly, the gap between Badhaai Ho  and big-budget film Thugs of Hindostan is gradually closing, as that movie has failed to live up to the analysts' expectations. As an Aamir Khan film, analysts expected big box office collections, but the movie is actually fizzling out at the cinemas. To the disappointment of the filmmakers and the actor himself, the movie, on its day 16, collected only Rs 25 lakh and with this, its collection now stands at Rs 149.67 crore.

Notably, Ayushmann Khurrana and Badhaai Ho are expected to make much more in the coming weeks as it remains the only movie worth watching in theatres as even the new releases have not managed to move the public.
