Ayushman Bharat: NHA partners with ICICI Foundation to skill more than 15,000 personnel to implement PMJAY
The National Health Authority (NHA) and ICICI Foundation today have signed an MoU for capacity building of State and District personnel along with Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs).
The National Health Authority (NHA) and ICICI Foundation today have signed an MoU for capacity building of State and District personnel along with Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs). This partnership with ICICI Foundation aims to skill more than 15,000 state personnel and PMAMs over a period of one year. Post training, the trained personnel will help the beneficiaries understand the scheme better. ICICI Academy for Skills, a skill training institute by ICICI Foundation, will conduct the training programme at 20 of its centres.
The state personnel are responsible for the implementation of the AB-PMJAY scheme in their respective states and PMAMs are frontline health service professionals, who are present at each of the empanelled hospitals and serve as the first point contact for beneficiaries of AB-PMJAY.
Speaking about the partnership Indu Bhushan, CEO Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and NHA said, “NHA is taking proactive steps to partner with leading private sector institutions with the goal of leveraging their expertise to streamline health service delivery of AB-PMJAY and provide a seamless experience to the beneficiaries. This will help in boosting the confidence of beneficiaries on the care being provided under the scheme.”
National Health Authority (NHA) is the apex body implementing Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and this is a joint initiative of NHA and ICICI Foundation. It will be an additional step to assist the public at large in availing benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme and will help in boosting the confidence of beneficiaries on the care being provided under the scheme.
Dinesh Arora, Dy. CEO, NHA added, “Capacity building of implementers at all levels is a critical part of the scheme and will determine the extent and the quality of experience of services received by patients at the point of care. We are pleased to join hands with ICICI Foundation to train up personnel along the continuum of the scheme’s delivery and make it more efficient.”
