The movie's India collection on the opening day was at Rs 31.30 crore. The film is one of the quickest entries ever for a film in the Rs 150-crore club in any language. At the end of the first week, it has earned Rs 156.64 crore in India. The movie earned in the box office collections in Mumbai (Rs 41.75 crore) among the Indian metro cities, followed by Delhi/UP (Rs 26.30 crore).
The movie was expected to enter Rs 200-crore club, but it missed the chance due to fall in collections on Thursday and Friday. The film, however, earned close to Rs 190 crore till the date, according to statistics on Bollywood Hungama. Avengers Infinity War is a threequel to The Avengers. The film brings together almost all of the shared Marvel for the first time. The Hollywood movie has reportedly amassed more than $857 million worldwide.
The Avengers Infinity War is expected to reach $1 billion in record time in earning worldwide. The flick has surpassed in revenue Marvel’s own Thor: Ragnarok ($854 million), Sony’s 2002 Spider-Man ($822 million), and Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman ($822 million). There are global projections that Infinity War swiftly is likely to earn over $100 million in its second weekend, with numbers reaching as high as $130 million. Industry analysts are keeping a tab whether the movie will topple the massive $681 million earned by predecessor Black Panther, released nearly three months ago.
Infinity War may make its way into the highest-grossing films of all-time list. These include James Cameron’s Avatar ($2.7 billion) and Titanic ($2.1b), The Force Awakens ($2.06b), Jurassic World ($1.6b), Furious 7 ($1.5b), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 ($1.3b) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($1.3b). Despite having superstar Amitabh Bachchan as well as Rishi Kapoor in films 102 Not Out and Raazi, these domestic releases may not be able to stop Avengers Infinity War box office collection.
