Assam Election Results 2024 Live: BJP's Bijuli Kalita Medhi leading in Assam's Guwahati
Guwahati, known as the gateway to the North East and South East Asia, is the only seat where two women have competed in a direct election for the second consecutive term.
Bijuli Kalita Medhi of the BJP leads her nearest Congress competitor, Mira Borthakur Goswami, by more than 59,000 votes in the renowned Guwahati parliamentary constituency, according to election officials.
Medhi now has 1,73,622 votes, while her opponent has 113662 votes.
The BJP replaced its current MP, Queen Ojha, with Medhi, the state party vice-president.

Sarbananda Sonowal has taken a comfortable lead in the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat.
