Liquor Policy Scam Case: Delhi court allows CBI to formally arrest Arvind Kejriwal
A Delhi court granted permission to the CBI - the countrys central investigating agency - to arrest Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in relation to the alleged excise scam. The court order authorising Arvind Kejriwals arrest followed a formal application by the CBI. Arvind Kejriwal had been brought to court from Tihar Jail.
A Delhi court on Wednesday permitted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to formally arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged excise scam. The order was passed by Special Judge Amitabh Rawat after a formal application by the country's central investigating agency seeking Kejriwal's custody to interrogate him.
Arvind Kejriwal is in prison in connection with the excise scam money laundering case probed by the financial crime fighting agency Enforcement Directorate (ED).
