Article 15 box office collection: The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer on social attrocities on the basis of caste crossed a crucial milestone on Wednesday. The movie has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in 13 days. The Anubhav Sinha directorial venture has received mixed reactions from the audience and critics. The film earned Rs 1.35 crore on Wednesday. The movie was released when the Cricket World Cup 2019 was going on and that might have affected its earnings.

The film earned Rs 5.02 crore on its first day and Rs 7.25 crore on its second day. However, it could not match the collection of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh. The latter's earning is now close to Rs 250 crore and may surpass the collection of Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The surgical Strike.

"Article15 crosses ₹ 50 cr mark... [Week 2] Fri 2.65 cr, Sat 4 cr, Sun 5.35 cr, Mon 2.02 cr, Tue 1.25 cr, Wed 1.35 cr [better than Tue]. Total: ₹ 50.83 cr. India biz," film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh tweeted today.

The film is based on the Article 15 of the Indian Constitution. This section of the  Constitution has clause to prohibit discrimination on grounds of religion,caste, race, sex or place of birth.
