Good news for Delhi Govt Employees: LG declares April 14 as holiday on account of Ambedkar Jayanti - THESE offices to remain closed on Friday

Ambedkar Jayanti Holiday in Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has declared Friday - 14th April as a holiday in all government offices, autonomous bodies and public sector units (PSU) under Delhi Government, on account of the birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The order issued by Delhi LG's Office declaring April 14 as a holiday in Delhi government offices on account of Ambedkar Jayanti, stated: "The Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to declare Friday, the 14th April, 2023 to be a Closed Holiday in all Government offices, Autonomous Bodies and Public Sector Undertakings under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, on account of Birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar."

Ambedkar Jayanti: Stock Markets to remain shut on April 14

Apart from the Delhi Govt offices, both of the country's leading stock exchanges — the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange) — will also remain shut on Friday the account of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti. The information was made available on the holiday calendar of the BSE and NSE stock exchanges.

Ambedkar Jayanti 2023 Bank Holiday: Banks to also remain shut on April 14

Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) bank official holiday calendar notifies that banks — both public and private sector — will also be shut on April 14 due to Ambedkar Jayanti, Bihu, Cheiraoba, Vaisakhi, Baisakhi, Tamil New Year's Day, Maha Bisubha Sankranti, Biju Festival and Buisu festival being celebrated in states across the country.
