Uri box office collection: The year 2019 has seen many hit films. One of them is Uri: The Surgical Strike, which collected over Rs 240 crore in India collection. The Vicky Kaushal starrer movie released on January 11, 2019. After mopping up Rs 8 crore collection on the opening day, it showed consistency in earnings. The hit films came from movies based on diverse content. Topics such as late-life sex, love story, comedy, heroism, and patriotism, all have had their share in the success story.

Uri, based on a real incident of Indian Army's surgical strike inside the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, has been successful in pulling the audience to the theatre. The film is now at 10th spot in terms of earning by a Hindi film, behind Baahubali2, Dangal, Sanju, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Padmaavat, Sultan, and Dhoom 3.

Baahubali 2 (Hindi) earned  Rs 510.99 crore, Amir Khan-starrer Dangal collected Rs 387.38 crore at the box office. The 2018 film, Sanju, grossed Rs 341.22, crossing PK’s Rs 340.8 crore record. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai earned Rs 339 crore in India collection. 

Keshari is another film which has seen a good collection at the box office. The Akshay Kumar movie, which was released on March 21 this year, crossed the Rs 100-crore mark by the second week itself. The film, based on Battle of Saragarhi, portrays the valour of Sikh soldiers in 1897, when 21 of them fought against thousands of Afgan tribes. It has so far earned over Rs 116 crore.
