Singh fought ran as an independent candidate and won by 197,120 votes.

Jailed Khalistani separatist and Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat winner Amritpal Singh's lawyer, Rajdev Singh Khalsa, stated that Singh's efforts were aimed at reducing drug consumption in Punjab.

Khalsa detailed the legal plan for Singh's next steps, emphasising the pursuit of bail. He expressed optimism that the BJP and AAP administrations will be forced to provide Singh relief owing to public support.

"The further strategy is of getting bail. The government will have to grant them relief because there is no alternative, the government will be compelled to do so, both the BJP government and the AAP government. Amritpal Singh was making Punjab drug-free. The people have approved that his arrest was illegal and immoral," Khalsa said.

Amritpal Singh's wife and lawyer visited Dibrugarh Jail on Wednesday to meet him following his victory in the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat, where he secured a significant lead with 4,04,430 votes.

In 2019, Congress candidate Jasbir Singh Gill won Khadoor Sahib. Manjit Singh Manna is the BJP's contender for the seat. AAP fielded Laljit Singh Bhullar, while Shiromani Akali Dal fielded Virsa Singh Valtoha.

In a very contested Lok Sabha election with several candidates, the Congress party was able to keep its seven seats in Punjab, matching its previous total.

According to the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 240 seats and the Congress 99.

The BJP's win total was much lower than its 303-seat total in 2019 and 282 seats in 2014.

The Congress, on the other hand, saw a significant increase, obtaining 99 seats, up from 52 in 2019 and 44 in 2014.
