The government has added an additional (10th) ID card for registration with a view that many students may not have Aadhaar or other government issued identity cards
Centre on Monday announced the registration process for the Covid-19 vaccination for children. According to the government, children in the age group of 15-18 years will be able to register on the CoWIN app from January 1.
The children will be required to submit 'student id cards' for the registration process for Covid vaccination. The government has added an additional (10th) ID card for registration with a view that many students may not have Aadhaar or other government issued identity cards. The interval between both doses will be 28 days.
Precautionary Dose
The frontline workers and Covid warriors will have to register on CoWin. For a Precautionary Dose, only the old vaccine will be used. This dose will also be free
For the elderly
- Registration will start from the new year
- Process will be the same as was last time
-There should be a gap of 9 months for the third dose - - Option will be on CoWin portal
- With the registration, the certificate of Comorbidities will be given as well.

Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that children between 15 and 18 years will also get the Covid vaccine shot from January 3 onwards amid Omicron variant concerns. Bharat Biotech’s covid-19 vaccine Covaxin has received approval for emergency use in children.
