Banks in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and other places in Maharashtra, and Haryana will have four days break. Bank branches in these states will remain open for only three days due to bank strike, assembly elections, and other bank holidays. Operation of banks are likely to be affected only on Tuesday in other parts of India due to employees union strike. Banks in Maharashtra and Haryana will remain closed today, as here Assembly elections are being held. However, banks in other parts of the country will function on Monday.

Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) and All India Bank Employees Association (AlBEA) will go on a nationwide strike to protest against bank mergers on Tuesday. Banking services across the country could be hit on Tuesday. Banking operations will be returned normalcy throughout the country after that. Again, the bank will be closed on Saturday as banks are closed on every second and fourth Saturdays.

Diwali this year falls on Sunday, which is a weekly holiday. Many people across the country may be affected by the extended bank holidays. Therefore, bank customers should schedule their banking activities following this schedule to avoid problems.

The bank customers would be able to perform their banking activities between Wednesday and Friday. Therefore, people who have pending issues should complete their task within these three days.
