Complaints of phenomenally HIGH FARES on India-UK route: Civil aviation regulator DGCA has this suggestion for flight ticket price searchers
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a travel advisory to passengers travelling to international destinations and has asked them to check the fare from the official website of the concerned airline.
In wake of complaints of phenomenally high fares on India-UK route, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday, August 10 issued a travel advisory to passengers travelling to international destinations. DGCA has asked them to check the fare from the official website of the concerned airline as the ticket prices shown on metasearch engines do not reflect the actual point to point fare.
“Passengers travelling to international destinations are requested to check the fare preferably from the website of the concerned Airline as the metasearch engines at times do not reflect the actual point to point fare and do make combinations of multiple Airlines and end up with an exaggerated figure,” DGCA tweeted.

Recently, the DGCA asked airlines to disclose their airfares for the India-UK route. The development came after a uproar among the air travellers over high airfares as India-UK flights restart on Sunday after a pause of around three and half months, as per a report by IANS.
Earlier on July 30, DGCA had tweeted a circular regarding travel and visa restrictions. According to the circular, the central government has decided to extend the suspension of international passenger commercial flights by one month till August 31, 2021. However, International Scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on case-to-case basis.

"In partial modification of circular dated 26.06.2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 23:59 hrs IST of 31st August 2021," the order said.
