The national air carrier Air India is mulling to venture into the holiday package segment business of the aviation industry. Though the decision is quite late, as majority of the aviation companies — Jet Airways, IndiGo, GoAir etc. — operating in India and with whom the Air India is planning to compete, have already announced their entry into the holiday package sector. Now, the Air India officials have decided to enhance its footfall and business capital by venturing into the holiday package plans.
The loss making national carrier offers highest number of national, international and economic flights and now they are going to offer tailor-made holiday package would definitely catch the eyeballs of the frequent air travelers. The holiday packages cover flights for sure in addition with site-seeing options, hotels and road transportation. For the purpose of holiday package plan, the Air India floated tenders recently inviting the reputed travel companies to come with their technical and commercial proposals, reported PTI.

Companies applying through this tender has to be the biggest dealer in content, technology and marketing industry. The bidders should be able to develop and manage the website too. The highest bidder will get this contract for the period of three years.
